Deviancy from what?
Cog,
for a comprehensive information, I suggest you compare feminine and masculine genitals and see for yourself how they fit with each other, then do the same with masculine ones and check that they don't.
i've just read lola28's thread "for those against gay marriage".
i thought i should present a clear message on what i think the gay marriage issue is all about.
the trouble with most discussions on this issue is that it gets clouded by a plethora of side-issues, non-issues, cave-men chest-thumping and medieval puritanism.

using fashion as an example
Yes, that's what I mean. Who other than gays can possibly have imposed twiggies as model patterns ?

Was talking about invasion in another thread...
the problem with gays is that they first require tolerance, then they phagocytose and extend, invade in the way they are doing right now on this very board, then they demand not only tolerance but equality of rights and eventually one can fear that, as any once oppressed group they themselves will become oppressors. Just look at the way they have imposed their distaste of women in the fashion industry.
i attended this we the meeting of an english speaking congregation, where they happened to have their co, an american ex- bethelite with his french wife.
he sounded quite sensible in his concluding prayer, saying that jws are in search of the truth, in connection, i assumed, with the wt article of the day.
that was the least he could say since, as i told him at the end of the meeting, we had seen three different definitions of the generation of the end within the last 13 years.
Hei, Ima
Thanks for your take, by launching the topic I just meant that various Bible passages lead us to believe that, for some reason which the text doesn't show clearly, Moses got the blow from Jehovah whilst the fault seemed in fact to be the Israelites' and, at any rate, Moses paid a price, for whatever mistake he made in this instance, out of proportion with the latter. I'm afraid this thread is well buried, now. Thanks anyway.
i guess its time to throw my little story out there.
i keep reading everyones stories and thinking how brave you have all been, coming out of the organisation and facing all the repercussions of doing so.. .
i only last august disassociated myself.
Hei, Str8, welcome to the board. You will indeed need support in the new life style you have chosen which, you say, is more conform to your natural leaning. As far as I can observe around me, homosexuality is anything but gay and experiences, though reportedly many, don't look so wonderful. If they were, how come that so many gay men can be spotted right away just from the way they look at people, having that sort of mixture of fearful and defying eyes, which exudes loneliness more than gayty. Just in the French recent history, two ageing homosexual literary men, MONTHERLANT and Jean-Louis BORY could see no other way than suicide to face the fact that they were not anymore the handsome physically attractive youg men they had once been. Now as far as judgement is concerned, I'm afraid you have broken free of the JW's just to find it in the common non JWs'. You can do nothing against that, many people just don't understand why there should be a gay PRIDE. Good luck on your uncomfortable road.

Hope4,
beware of fluctuating forgetful crowds, in fact just crowds !
Bonsoir Narkissos
As I was working on my thread, I googled Meribah and found the different narratives of the event along with their explanations. In the current state of information where I am (but of course I'm not an expert, whether in translation or other ;-) I understand that Moses' punishment was linked to his behaviour at Meribah but I take note of your qualified observation and will read again these passages in this new light. Thanks for your take.

He sighed and agreed.
On another topic, he mentioned in his talk Moses who was forbidden entrance into the promised land because he failed to recognize that his getting water shoot out of the crag was due to Jehovah's power, and he went on emphasizing how unwise it would be to be unfaithful now and therefore lose the reward as we are so close to the term, etc, etc. Checking into the Bible, I was impressed by the fact that Moses got irritated because the Israelites were whining and regretted Egypt and the text focuses on the Israelites' grumbling and their, rather than Moses', lack of faith (this to answer an explanation (not the WT's) which we find sometimes about Moses hitting the rock, out of doubt, twice instead of once) :
"So he called the name of the place Mas´sah and Mer´i·bah, because of the quarrelling of the sons of Israel and because of their putting Jehovah to the test, saying : "Is Jehovah in our midst or not?" "(Ex. 17 : 7)
"These are the waters of Mer´i·bah, because the sons of Israel quarrelled with Jehovah, so that he was sanctified among them" (Num. 20 : 13).
Poor old Moses definitely paid for the Israelites' fault : "And Jehovah got incensed at me on YOUR account" (Deut. 4 : 21), "they caused provocation at the waters of Mer´i·bah, so that it went badly with Moses by reason of them" (Ps. 106 :32). Too harsh a punishment on him, just because he lost his temper for a short while. There is a lot to learn, yet, about the circumstances of this event, which are far from being clear, and the way, which may look unfair at first sight, Jehovah dealt with Moses, and some other people in various instances, in the OT.
"what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system things?"--matt.
q) 6 what does revelation chapter 12 help us to understand about christ's presence?
q) 8, 9. who would recognize the sign of christs presence and understand its meaning?.
Thanks, Blondie, for your research work. Your thread is quite complementary with Leolaia's. Whereas she imparts to us her vast linguistic and textual knowledge, you have a knack for exposing the WTS's ever varying teachings by means of quoting from their abundant literature. To their credit, they have written so much over a century, it's little wonder they contradict themselves. They may even not remember what they have written in past decades on a given subject ...
Thanks, Leolaia, for your comments, quite informative as usual.

At long last the matter is now simply and accurately presented in the Watchtower, Feb 15, 2008 Study Edition.
Hasn't past experience made you more cautious yet ? How many more articles, "settling the matter once and for all", will you need before you realize that the WTS tailors its truth to the sole purpose of self preservation ?
...a pandering to...those who would rather pursue a lazy a d unChristian lifestyle.
But what makes you think that independent thinkers, whom the WTS likes to dub "apostates" to frighten the flock, lead such a lifestyle ? I'm pretty sure that quite many don't, even in the WTS acception of the phrase. But, there again, this organization needs to depict those who just want to exercise a critical approach to a teaching which claims to come from God, as vilain immoral elements who must be avoided at all cost, lest they impart a bit of rationality to JWs. That's what shunning is for, isn't it ?
so i'll be turning 32 soon.
my life has been mostly pleasant.
i don't have any 5 year plan or anything like that, but i do want to be a mom no later than 34. i am single, no great love of my life, not even someone to like out there at the moment.
Loubelle,
If you can make it, I would advise to wait so that you can find a suitable partner, there's nothing like Mom and Dad to give a child a balanced rearing. Wish you the best. BTW, I was quite intrigued by your spirit experiences.
